DRIVING COURSE

38 Hour Teen Driver Education
$600

Driver Education for Students 14 years & 9 months through 17 years of age

This program is required for students ages 14 years and 9 months through 17 years who are seeking a Louisiana learner’s permit and/or a driver’s license.

The course is designed to build a strong foundation of knowledge and practical skills, preparing students to become safe and responsible drivers. Our 38-Hour Teen Driver Education Course is a comprehensive, two-phase program that includes:

  1. 30 hours of classroom instruction, which includes the written exam
  2. 8 hours of behind-the-wheel training, divided into four (4) two-hour sessions, providing hands-on driving experience with a certified instructor. Driving sessions are scheduled during your classroom time for future dates following the completion of the class.

Note: The Road Skills Test for a Driver’s License is not included in this fee. Because each student progresses through the course and driving sessions at their own pace, we do not charge for the Road Skills Test upfront. This fee is only collected at the time the Road Skills Test is administered.

Convenient Behind-the-Wheel Scheduling & Transportation
Coach’s Driving Academy provides pick up and delivery of all our students within our driving area for the driving portion of behind the wheel training.  We schedule behind the wheel training 7 days a week and have morning, afternoon, and evening lessons available.

TIP Card Requirement for All Driver’s Education Students
Before attending any Driver’s Education class, all students—regardless of age—must obtain a Temporary Instruction Permit (TIP) from the Louisiana Office of Motor Vehicles (OMV). This requirement applies to both teens and adults who wish to obtain a Louisiana driver’s license. The TIP must be presented to the driving school before beginning any classroom or behind-the-wheel instruction.

👉 Check out our TIP Card Information tab for more details on obtaining your Temporary Instruction Permit before class.

A minimum $100 Non-Refundable deposit is required to reserve a spot in the class and will be applied toward the total course fee
