38 Hour Teen Driving Course - $385
Driver Education for Students 14 years & 9 months through 17 years old
RETURN TO MODIFIED PHASE TWO: Effective November 25, 2020, in-person classes are limited to 15 students for each class, plus the instructor. We may need to change our policy to be in compliance with the Louisiana Governor proclamation and the guidance that we are provided by the Louisiana OMV. We may have to add to or take away guidelines as we proceed through this uncharted water. Please be patient with us as we work through this together!
TIP CARD REQUIREMENT: Prior to attending the first day of any in-person Driver’s Education class, your teen must obtain the Temporary Instruction Permit (TIP card) from the Office of Motor Vehicles. A TIP must be obtained before students attend Day 1 of the class. This rule applies to anyone in the State of Louisiana (regardless of age) that wishes to obtain a Drivers License, both Teens and Adults.
IMPORTANT NOTICE TO PARENTS: The TIP card can only be obtained by going to the DMV with your child, you cannot go on their behalf.
ALL DMV LOCATIONS ARE NOW BY APPOINTMENT ONLY and you will be turned away if you show up without an appointment. You may make an appointment by visiting the Louisiana OMV website at https://www.expresslane.org/Pages/default.aspx. You will find the most up-to-date information on DMV locations that are open, accepted documents, etc.
Please do not delay in going to the DMV and waiting until the last minute, appointments are SEVERAL DAYS TO OVER 2 WEEKS OUT with scheduling. We cannot stress this enough! You may schedule an appointment online ahead of time. When you visit the DMV website, look for "Book Appointment" and follow the prompts to select a DMV location. You will want to make an appointment for a "First Time Drivers License" to get the TIP card.
Note: $50 NON-REFUNDABLE deposit is required to hold spot in class.

This class is required by students ages 14 years (& 9 months) through 17 years for a learners permit in Louisiana. Our 38 Hour Driving Course is a two-phase program consisting of: (1) 30 hours of classroom instruction and (2) Behind-the-wheel instruction for 8 hours. These lessons are divided into four (4) two-hour lessons.
The course will build a solid foundation of knowledge and practice for students by teaching laws of the road with emphasis on the effects of alcohol, drugs, driving distractions, and much more.
Coach's Driving Academy provides FREE pick up and delivery of all our students within our driving area for the driving portion of behind the wheel training. We can pick up students from school or home. We schedule behind the wheel training 7 days a week and have morning, afternoon, and evening lessons available.
