38 Hour Teen Driving Course - $495

Driver Education for Students 14 years & 9 months through 17 years old

We are not accepting names for any waiting list or "pre-registering" for the 38 Hour Teen Driving Course.

With current Louisiana guidelines, we are still limited in the number of students that we can have in each class.

Yes, we are just as frustrated as you are, but we must adhere to the current guidelines set forth by the Governor’s Office and the Louisiana OMV 😊

Please be patient as we are holding as many classes as we reasonably can and still fulfill our requirements of holding other types of classes, completing Instructional drives, and performing Road Skills Tests assessments for both Teens and Adults.

Please keep checking back for future class dates being released.

Our registration is done on a first come, first served basis when class dates are released!

MOVE INTO PHASE 3: Effective March 31, 2021: In-person classes are still limited as of today and we are at 75% capacity, which allows a few more students to attend each class. The new orders from Governor Edwards does not change our class capacity.

NOTE: If at any time we need to move back to tighter class restrictions based on either the Louisiana Governor proclamation or by directive of the Louisiana OMV, we may need to reduce the number of students in our class at any given time.  We will try and minimize the impact this may have on you taking a class with us.

All students and instructors must wear a mask/face-covering while taking the course and during the driving instruction. We ask for your continued patience!

TIP CARD REQUIREMENT FOR ANYONE ATTENDING A DRIVERS ED CLASS:  Prior to attending the first day of any in-person Driver’s Education class, your teen must obtain the Temporary Instruction Permit (TIP card)  from the Office of Motor Vehicles. This rule applies to anyone in the State of Louisiana (regardless of age) that wishes to obtain a Drivers License, both Teens and Adults.

IMPORTANT NOTICE TO PARENTS: The TIP card can only be obtained by  going to the DMV with your child, you cannot go on their behalf.

ALL DMV LOCATIONS ARE NOW BY APPOINTMENT ONLY and you will be turned away if you show up without an appointment. You may make an appointment by visiting the Louisiana OMV website at https://www.expresslane.org/Pages/default.aspxYou will find the most up-to-date information on DMV locations that are open, accepted documents, etc. Please do not delay in going to the DMV and waiting until the last minute, appointments are several days to over 2 weeks out with scheduling. You may schedule an appointment online ahead of time.  When you visit the DMV website, look for "Book Appointment" and follow the prompts to select a DMV location. You will want to make an appointment for a "First Time Drivers License" to get the TIP card.

If plans change and your child/student is no longer able to attend class due to a schedule conflict or if your child/student was unable to get the TIP card (or for any other reason) a 72 Hour WRITTEN NOTICE to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. must be given or your deposit will be forfeited. We have a long waiting list of students who want to attend class, and we would like the opportunity to extend the offer to someone else and give them ample time to plan.

This class is required by students ages 14 years (& 9 months) through 17 years for a learners permit in Louisiana. Our 38 Hour Driving Course is a two-phase program consisting of: (1) 30 hours of classroom instruction and (2) Behind-the-wheel instruction for 8 hours.  These lessons are divided into four (4) two-hour lessons.

The course will build a solid foundation of knowledge and practice for students by teaching laws of the road with emphasis on the effects of alcohol, drugs, driving distractions, and much more.

Coach's Driving Academy provides pick up and delivery of all our students within our driving area for the driving portion of behind the wheel training.  We can pick up students from school or home. We schedule behind the wheel training 7 days a week and have morning, afternoon, and evening lessons available.

Note: All classes: Parent and student must arrive at 8:30 AM on the first day of class in order to complete all required legal paperwork.

All deposits are Non-refundable & Non-transferable.  Deposit will be deducted from final payment.
