14 Hour Pre-Licensing Adult Course - $275
Driver Education for Students 18 years and older
Before you attend the first day of Driver’s Education class, a Temporary Instruction Permit (TIP) must be obtained from the Office of Motor Vehicles. Adult Students (18 years old and older) - 14 Hour (Adult) Pre-Licensing Course
- Original or State Certified Birth Certificate (no photocopies)
- Social Security Card
- Proof of residence (Two proof of residences if applying for a Real ID)
*Note: If an adult has a valid Louisiana State ID already issued and their Social Security Number is in OMV’s system, then only the ID and Proof of Residency is needed.
Cost of Temporary Instruction Permit is $32.25 with a possible service fee up to $6.00.
This course is required by all individuals 18 or over who currently do not hold a valid drivers license. This 14 hour course includes 6 hours of classroom and 8 hours of behind the wheel training. These lessons are divided into four (4) two hour lessons.

Class times: Saturday dates: 8:00 am to 2:30 pm; Weeknight dates: 2 nights, 5:30 pm - 8:30 pm
